Project Overview
Project management software and profitability reporting is the heart of a construction business. Understanding material, labor and overhead costs can improve visibility into key areas of the business and allow for informed decision making. PBS Supply needed a software that could provide real-time data analytics into the profitability of their projects and understand potential areas of project overrun.
Operating without key performance indicators and a cloud-dashboard was holding PBS Supply back from realizing their growth goals. After implementation, PBS saw a dramatic increase in productivity as well as an ability to estimate and win more projects with more accurate cost accounting processes.

Project Execution
The project started with an essential QuickBooks Enterprise audit and cleanup process. We needed to make sure we could export data from the company's current software and trust critical figures around income, inventory, cost of goods sold, payroll, A/P & A/R.
After an extensive cleanup effort, we analyzed financial records for year end to make a clean cut-off for the company's previous accounting software and trust that they were beginning fresh with the start of a new year in the new software. The team went through multiple rounds of importing and testing data in a sandbox environment. This allowed the team to train and learn the new system using realistic/actual data the company would expect to use in the live environment.
After vetting the data imports and training with the PBS team, the company was ready to "Go Live" with the new software. Many processes needed revised and documented to make sure that the system is used in accordance with suggested best practices and managed with strong internal controls going forward.
